I stay at San Raphael with my mother alone since she kicked my father out last year. It was a combined effort really, both she and I got tired of my fathers long business trips to Moscow, which apparently was somewhere in Kenton, a town next to ours were he had been carrying on an affair for a year since before I was born.

The drama with my parents is not the focus of this story as I have more serious problems on my plate. If I don"t find a way out of this, I might spend the rest of my life in prison for murder.

It all started in the summer of last year when a guy from high school, Kenny Mc Veal, decided we should be friends again. Well in that case it all started back in Kindergarten. Kenny and I were neighbours and so naturally we were very close. We were best friends in nursery school and all the way through primary school. When he moved to stay with his father and step-mother in Kenton just before junior high, our friendship dissolved. He left without saying goodbye. I was becoming evidently gay and he_ was into base ball. We stayed at the same school though but rarely did we ever communicate, in fact he was part of the popular crew that picked on me from time to time. Although he never actually did or say anything to hurt me; his silence hurt just as much if not more.

One person who enjoyed my suffering was Amber Blanch, Kenny"s girlfriend. She was pretty I won"t deny, but not in the conventional way of beauty. All I know is that she wasn"t the kind of girl you would want to compete for a guy with, besides, she was as mean as the dark sparkle in her eyes.

In the summer of last year we were in our final year of high school and aside the looming Cambridge examinations, there was varsity square and prom to look forward to.
"2 months before varsity square and I still have not decided which university am going to go to yet" I wienned to my best friend Emily. " Isn"t that the purpose of the whole thing? To help us decide? And besides, september is a long way from now, will croSs that bridge when we get there. So tell me, how you got that scar on your forehead?" Emily was not going to let this go no matter how hard I tried to evade the issue.
"I told you, I bumped my head in the toilets at school, there was water on the floor and so I sl-"
"BullShit !!! " Emily objected. "You know you can"t lie to me, its sad how you even try, now spit it out before I give you a black eye!!! "
"Ok, but promise you won"t freak out about it" I whispered "sure" she replied in a not so convincing tone but still eager to hear.

"Yesterday when the bell rang after lunch I went to the toilets to pee. Jack, Liam and Danny followed me in there"
"Those mother-" Emily screwed her face as she knew were this was going. "I spotted them behind me so I entered a cubicle instead of the urinals, I took my time in there but i had to get out to wash my hands in the basins. They sandwiched me on the taps in a cow horn formation. Jack said he noticed me staring at his package these last couple of days and soo he felt violated, Liam nodded and suggested that they screw with my face since I thought I was too pretty to get away with that"

"Had you been looking at his-"
"No silly ! Gross!". I retorted and continued.
"Jason punched me in the chest and I fell back on to liam who pushed me to Danny, it was Danny who shoved me into the mirror. I managed to reduce the impact with my arm but I still hit the glass.with my forehead. "My god B that"s assault" Emily had risen from the bed and was virtually sitting in mid air in disbelief.
"It gets weird man, Kenny entered the toilets just as Danny was shoving me in the mirror."
"And, and --- what he do???"
" He lost it, he spear-headed Danny in the gut. The other two clowns ran off. He punched Danny to a pulp and I got really freaked out so I left, I got into my car and drove home".

"So that"s why your car wasn"t in the parking yesterday when school ended, you know I had to walk home". Emily sighed." Bitch,Is that all you are worried about". "Nooo sorry, am just trying to process all this, have you spoken to Kenny since he saved you?"

"Saved me ? He"s a jerk just like those guys!".
"I guess the answer is no then, when are you ever gonna try and find out what really happened with him B you ar-"

"B! Bill honey you won"t believe whose here to see you, come down!" My mother yelled from the bottom of the stairs. Emily and I were curious to see who so we both went down. Kenny was standing in the foyer. Emily said good bye and gave me one of her "fill me in later" looks. She left Kenny and I standing awkwardly in the foyer.

"Hey"

"Um you wanna go up?" I asked nervously. "Sure".
We walked up in silence until we got to my room. We sat on the opposite corners at the end of my bed were yet another awkward moment ensued.

"About um yesterday, am really sorry things got so out of hand, I had no idea the guys were going to rough you up soo badly".
"What? So you knew that there were coming after me?" I asked standing up from the bed " Ha why am I even surprised?".

"No I didn"t! They said they were going to scare you, have some fun that"s all. Nothing physical, but I had a bad feeling about it so I decided to come after them"

"What do you want from me Kenny? Gratitude? Huh? Thank you- is that it? You want me to say I owe you one huh?" - I was going insane.
"No damn it" he too was now standing on his feet staring me in the eyes, as we stood face to face.
"Am sorry" he looked down in shame.

"Sorry for what? I continued, un appeased. "Sorry for not being there when your cock friends assulted me ? Huh? Sorry for not doing anthing everytime they teased and embarrased me infront of everyone? What are you sorry for K? Are you sorry for that? Or are you sorry for leaving me alone here, you didn"t even say good bye kenny and suddenly you were too good to be my friend at school. " I was on the verge of a breakdown as both of our eyes were glassy with tears.

"I had no choice Ok, you think I wanted to leave?, it was soo hard, and I just... I just thought it would be easier if, I don"t know."
Before I knew what was happening, Kenny langed forward and kissed me intensely, it was passionate,hard and breath taking.
Literally it was breath taking so I pushed him off. ..
